Hoverboard Tips For Beginners: How to Ride a Hoverboard
Hoverboards are great fun to ride. And if you’ve never ridden one before, you’ll love it. That’s the first point to make. However, there is a bit of a knack to it, and in order to make the most of your Hoverboard adventures, it’s a good idea to start off the right way with our Hoverboard Tips for Beginners guide. That means following a few tips for beginners. We’ll start off with an overview of some of the benefits of riding a Hoverboard before moving onto those top tips.
The Benefits of Riding a Hoverboard
There are a number of health benefits you’ll get from riding a Hoverboard. One is the calorie burn. You are going sweat, so make sure you know which is going to protect you best – deodorant vs antiperspirant. Secondly, there’s the chance to improve your posture, balance and core strength.
There’s also the improved concentration and focus. So much more than just a cool way of getting from A to B. Just quickly, back to that deodorant vs antiperspirant debate – if you would like to know more you can go here.
Now, let’s take a look at how to ride a Hoverboard Tips for Beginners:
-
Foot placement
Start off by stepping onto your board one foot at a time. It’s going to wobble as soon as there’s contact, so make sure it’s flat to start with and resist any urge to hop on two-footed. Once you’ve got your feet on the fun’s nearly ready to start.
Spread your feet as wide as you can, without them touching the wheels. This will give you the most solid base and best control. Stand up straight and look ahead. You’re nearly ready to go, just stay relaxed.
-
Hoverboard Tips For Beginners: Moving Forward and Backward
In order to make the Hoverboard go where you want, you need to move your body. Starting with a forward and backward movement, all you have to do is gently lean… either forwards or backwards – although we’re not recommending going back just yet.
Keep your feet nice and flat and practice riding in straight lines to start with. Try not to bend from the hips – think of your ankles as the pivot point. That way you’ll stay upright and more in control.
-
Hoverboard Tips For Beginners: Turning Your Hoverboard
Next up is moving left and right, which is controlled by moving your toes. All you have to do is push them forwards on one foot or the other. Now, this might take a little time to get used to, mainly because if you want to turn left you should dip your right foot and vice versa.
The further down you press your toes the more pronounced the turns will be. Again, start off gently, and then you can move onto sharper turns. To do this you push the toes of one foot forward, and the heel of the other foot down. You’ll be spinning in a circle in no time.
-
Be Safe on Your Hoverboard
Mastering your Hoverboard takes a little time and patience, but once you do you’ll be able to ride it with ease. And whilst some think it’s fun to laugh at people falling off on their first hoverboard ride, the truth is that it can hurt. Not fun. So, take it slowly.
Wear a helmet and pads if need be and practice, practice, practice. That includes the dismount. To get off your hoverboard just reverse the mounting process, one foot at a time.
That’s it – everything you need to know to take your first hoverboard ride. Have fun!
